Review: Nomad Pants by FreeFly Apparel

Lets talk about Men’s Nomad Pants from FreeFly Apparel.

FreeFly is one of the top bamboo apparel companies out there - so I was expecting good things. And I wasn’t disappointed.

For one, it doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing pants when I have these on. They feel like my legs are wrapped in a cloud. Secondly, the cut is great - like a tailored suit. The leg openings are just right and the fit is superb. I wore these for the first time on a hot day attending a modern architecture tour, and they felt breezy.

But are they Bamboo?? Here are the materials listed on the product page:

  • Shell: 89% Polyester / 11% Spandex

  • Pocket Lining: 70% Viscose from Bamboo / 30% Polyester

  • 225 GSM

Umm, what? Why is a bamboo apparel company selling pants that are mostly polyester and spandex at this price point? I probably wouldn’t have purchased them if I would have looked at the materials a little closer. I feel more than slightly bamboozled.

That said… they do look and feel great, and I’m not returning these puppies. My rating: 4/5 stars. I’d give them a full 5/5 if they were made with more bamboo. Here are additional details on the pants if you’re interested:

  • Four pocket pant metal button closure

  • Twill finish with four way stretch

  • Slim straight leg cut

  • 8" leg opening
